Dunlap Excels In Healthcare Construction

Over the past 40+ years, Dunlap has expanded our construction work into nearly every sector. We have been fortunate to grow alongside WNC, working on new construction as well as remodeling historic buildings all over this region. In addition, we have become a go-to partner for local healthcare construction, a specialty we don’t take lightly. When it comes to this type of construction, there are extra considerations that must be accounted for, and not every contractor is up for the job.

Planning And Adaptation Are Key

In other types of construction, we might have the luxury of performing work on an empty building. Typically on a healthcare job, everyone still has to be able to do their job. Sick people still need care, and we have to plan carefully so as to minimize disruption. We have the experience necessary to handle the logistics of these challenging construction projects. We typically utilize “phases,” where we can relocate affected areas and re-route patient entry/exit until a phase is complete. Then the juggling starts again until all phases of construction are done. Our goal is to minimize downtime as much as possible and allow for close-to-normal operation.

Safety Is Always A Priority, But Especially In Healthcare Construction

At Dunlap, we take safety very seriously on every job. In many cases, the only people on the job site are contractors or other vendors, who are familiar with the dangers of a construction site. When working in a healthcare setting, we are working among the general population – and often very sick people. It’s of the utmost importance that we take all precautions to keep everyone safe. Whether that’s re-directing people through another door or entry to minimize traffic or blocking off areas entirely, we do what is necessary.

If you are planning a build or remodel for a medical office, consider Dunlap as your choice of contractor. We have worked with our local hospitals and medical offices for years on both new construction and remodels. To learn more about our work, schedule a meeting with us. We are happy to go over our portfolio with you and discuss our experience.
