Gym and Recreational Park Construction Experts

Dunlap Construction has become one of the top contractors in WNC by taking on projects in a wide variety of sectors. Over the years we have been fortunate to work on dozens of unique jobs. When people think of a typical general contractor, they might not think about the construction of a trampoline park. But, we love working on these recreational spaces! While many gyms and recreation parks remain closed or are operating at limited capacity, we certainly look forward to enjoying these outlets again in the future. In the mean time, let’s look at some of the fun projects we have done over the years.

Launch Trampoline Park Construction

We worked on the initial construction for Launch Trampoline Park back in 2015. Launch was developed from a 25,000 square foot empty warehouse. We retrofitted this space from top to bottom, with necessary insulation and metal framework to support the trampoline surfaces. You can read more about that transformation here. Unfortunately we have just learned that another local trampoline park has closed permanently as a result of the shut down, so we are in the process of moving equipment from that location to Launch and integrating it with the existing layout. They plan to re-open soon! Be sure to visit their website for the latest news.

Henderson County Athletics and Activity Center Renovation

The old Hendersonville Christian School serves as the new home to the Henderson County Parks and Recreation administrative offices and a recreation center. We were the general contractor for this renovation, which included work on classrooms, gymnasium, restrooms, and more. Currently the Activity Center is closed until further notice, but we look forward to them re-opening.

Hendersonville Family YMCA Renovation

The Wellness Center at the Hendersonville Family YMCA underwent heavy renovation back in late 2013 as the first step in a long term plan to improve the facility, built in the 1950s. During this project, we expanded the lobby, reception area, and wellness space. We added new offices and a conference room, a multipurpose studio and childcare center. In addition, the playground was relocated. Several years later we were able to complete an overhaul of the locker rooms. The YCMA has just opened its doors again, so be sure to check their website for hours and available services.

We know that the shutdown has hit the parks and recreation sector hard, but some facilities are using the forced downtime to renovate their space and make improvements. If you’re thinking about making some changes to your gym, park, or other recreation facility – give us a call. We have the expertise in this unique type of construction to tackle your next renovation (or new build).  Feel free to contact us with any questions about this type of construction or learn more about past projects.
